Woo yay! The crazed Finnish funky hip-hop meisters who brought you “Girl” (previously featured) have released the entire album Pepe Deluxé: Beatitude (including “Girl”) as a free download. A quick check with Last.fm shows that “Salami Fever”, “Cruel Youth” and “Lying Peacefully” are the most listened tracks.

Indecision 2008 from Comedy Central

Posted by Paul Ayres on 26 July 2007

It’s well known that I worship at the satirical font of everything that flows from Mr. Jon Stewart and Mr. Stephen Colbert and the latest addition to the stable is the official Comedy Central Indecision 2008 website to cater for all of your comedic Presidential needs.

The sheer genius of the man is exemplified by his latest missive on the recent CNN / YouTube debate.

… where he covers usability, Web 2.0, political debate and YouTube in the time it takes to boil an egg – marvellous!

Man-eating badgers

Posted by misterchristophe on 23 July 2007

I have a fascination with Honey Badgers, so clearly my interest was piqued when I read this article about how they may have become part of the war against terror.

For more information about why I love them so, see the Wikipedia entry on the subject.

The Gapminder World

Posted by Paul Smith on 11 July 2007

Saw a TED talk by Hans Rosling about global statistics, which I would thoroughly recommend watching. It will change the way you think about things. The way the stats are presented is really cool, and it turns out that Google (who else?!) has a tool which allows you to play around and produce your own stats in a similar way with The Gapminder World 2006. Well worth a look, and some time spent trying different combinations and countries – it will surprise you!

Bellatrix performs ‘Fever’

Posted by Martin Poulter on 6 July 2007

Bellatrix, the UK’s only female professional human beatboxer, has recently wowed Bristol audiences at the Venn Festival and will appear at Ashton Court. Some footage of her courtesy of Mr_Hopkinson’s archive of beatboxing-related videos. All the sounds you hear – the bass, drums and record scratches as well as the vocal – come from her mouth.

Another video here from the same convention.
