Star Wars – Fact NOT Fiction

Posted by Martin Poulter on 29 June 2004

http://www.anycities.com/jahtruth/starwar.htm

You fell for the ruse that it was fiction, right? That it was about events long ago in a galaxy far, far away? If only you’d read the Qur’an and Book of Revelations obsessively every day, you’d wise up like this guy.

The Law of the Playground

Posted by misterchristophe on 24 June 2004

http://www.playgroundlaw.com/

A comprehensive and occasionally inspired archive of anecdotes and musings on school life:

“The inability of English teachers to explain how Shakespeare or Chaucer could possibly be useful reading material is matched only by the pupils’ inability to explain, in terms that English teachers accept, why it isn’t”

NewMedia Puzzles by Scott Kim

Posted by Martin Poulter on 20 June 2004

Scott Kim has one of the world’s most amazing visual minds. Thinking in four dimensions, doing abstract things with typefaces… His flash games are amazingly original, visually appealing and brainy.

Heartless Bitches International

Posted by Martin Poulter on 18 June 2004

http://www.heartless-bitches.com/

It’s nearly a decade since I first looked at this site, and it’s gone from strength to strength. Wrongly percieved as a man-hating site, or just harmless humour, it’s a forum with many contributors linked by a belief in emotionally mature relationships that aren’t based on gender stereotypes; an oasis for women sick of pretending not to have brains. Check out the Collected Quotes for some succinct wisdom and WomanRant for some right-on political commentary. Another funny aspect is the feedback forms which make it easy to send the owners blathering hate mail.

Baby’s Named a Bad, Bad Thing

Posted by rootdev on 18 June 2004

http://www.notwithoutmyhandbag.com/babynames/index.html

This site very nearly led to several C|N>K moments, particularly the “Brought to You By The Letter Y” page.

And before anyone asks: The answer is “No”

Unless you were going to ask “What the hell does C|N>K mean?” In which case the answer would be something else entirely.

Splinter

Posted by Martin Poulter on 17 June 2004

The task of getting into bed in the middle of the night without waking up your girlfriend is here transformed into a hilarious game, with sniper rifles and an amazingly realistic male perspective on weeing.

Stupidest blog post?

Posted by Martin Poulter on 16 June 2004

Nice to see the online community tearing a teacher a new orifice for her cluelessness about statistics. Did you know that polls saying “a majority of Americans…” don’t actually survey a majority of Americans?
