FactCheck

Posted by Martin Poulter on 31 March 2005

“If only there were a UK version.” I bemoaned while reviewing the US-based Annenberg Political Fact Check. Now there is, thanks to Jon Snow and colleagues at Channel 4. Let’s see if this turns out to be the essential political site of 2005. Thanks to Dan_B for the pointer.

Alternative ILRT Staff Gallery

Posted by Martin Poulter on 31 March 2005

One of the features of the ILRT Art Show 2005 site is a set of portraits of ILRT staff which nicely contrasts with the official staff image gallery.

Lemon Jelly’s ” ’75 ” – an edit

Posted by Martin Poulter on 29 March 2005

I’ve recently warmed to the track “’75 “, also titled “Stay With You”, from the new audiovisual album “’64-’95” by Lemon Jelly. However, it takes a bit too long to get to the gorgeous final chorus. I’ve edited it down, taking out nearly 3 minutes to bring it down to radio-friendly length.

How many 5 year-olds could you take in a fight?

Posted by Martin Poulter on 23 March 2005

Right now there are Thirty Two pages of debate on this topic, more than 80 comments on MetaFilter and plenty more discussions around the Web. I’m playing it safe and keeping to 30.

Swirly grid game

Click on a tile to set a chain reaction of swirls going and watch mesmerised as it goes on for literally seconds if you are really skillful.

Panorama: Tony and the Truth

Posted by Martin Poulter on 21 March 2005

Bless the BBC for releasing a full transcript and event timeline for tonight’s Panorama documentary. This covered the dubious legality of the war, the political exaggeration of the Iraqi threat and the scapegoating of the French. It made use of leaked internal documents and highly-placed sources.
