Aussie comedy show CNNNN interviewed some Americans about the war on terror. They managed to find a lot of people who were eager to attack countries that they could not find on the (deliberately mislabelled) map. “Wow, I never knew North Korea was so big!” says one interviewee.

Lounge Against The Machine

Posted by Martin Poulter on 12 October 2005

A few people have recommended me the album “Rock Swings” by Paul Anka with its sumptuously arranged swing versions of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and Spandau Ballet’s “True”. The true hero of easy listening rock, however, is Richard Cheese (friends call him “Dick”). Thanks Max_F for telling me about him.

The album “Lounge Against the Machine” features a hilarious version of “Closer” by Nine Inch Nails. “Tuxicity” has covers of “Insane in the Brain” by Cypress Hill and “Loser” by Beck. “Aperitif for Destruction” features “The Girl is Mine” done as a duet with a Stephen Hawking voice. (Samples online thanks to Amazon). Blisteringly funny and surprisingly catchy listening.

Cheese even did a version of “Smack My Bitch Up”, which I didn’t know about when I was working on my version of “Firestarter”.

Figurative satire made literal. Absolutely mesmerizing.
