Harpo’s Revenge – The Scratching Post – The cat lovers’ website

Posted by Martin Poulter on 13 November 2003

“Under cover of night, and armed with a catapult and bag full of specially hardened explosive cat excrement”… Surely a game which has to be tried!

NB: Loud music, so make sure you don’t have your volume turned up in a crowded office 😉

Shazam – name that tune in one!

Posted by Martin Poulter on 12 November 2003

Been trying to remember this for ages, so thought it worth blogging now I founs it again:

Ever in a pub and wish you knew what that tune was on the jukebox? Want to know what the music is on an advert? Try this – it _really_ works!

Male sex hormone easily triggered

Posted by Martin Poulter on 5 November 2003

Inna pointed out this report on research into testosterone. The findings: single men have more, it can be triggered just by talking to a woman, it reduces stress and the women in the experiments could spot which men were testosteroned-up.

Look Around You on DVD

Posted by Martin Poulter on 5 November 2003

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000AISIY/

This is my Thing Of The Month. The hilarious comedy series is essential viewing if you have any affection for the Open University programmes or the BBC Micro and has probably provoked more belly laughs than anything on TV in the last year. It’s a bit of a pain to pay full price for a short DVD, but the extras (Pages from Ceefax, a Test Card with appropriate guitar music…) are, like the series itself, made with love.

Wired News: Pics Worth a Thousand Protests

Posted by Martin Poulter on 5 November 2003

Dan brought my attention to this article on how technology is changing the face of political activism. An example is afghan women hiding video cams in their burkas to film human rights abuses. It mentions the anti-war documentary film “We interrupt this empire” which is not online but which I highly, highly recommend if you get the chance to see. Apparently some of the linked footage is very disturbing, so watch where you click.
