Tokyo noise-punk band Melt Banana played the Fleece this week. The Venue preview described them as “unmatched in terms of intensity and speed by any other live act”, but even that description didn’t prepare me for how extreme (and excellent!) this music would be.
I took some movie clips on my digital camera and edited them quickly together in MovieMaker to make this 27 MB Windows Media file.

Yes, I’m putting a work site on the blog. However, these films are a lot of fun. The first two are delightfully mad and will make you laugh even if you’re not interested in economics.

Really well done stop motion pop video, frankly ruined by “rap music” track over the top of it - so just do what I did, watch the video with the sound off instead - must have taken ages!

…meaning AI using humans rather than computers. Mechanical Turk is a new way Amazon have found to pay for classification work. You sign up to do lots of simple tasks like judging what is in a photograph, and the pennies build up. Found via Metafilter.
