Not very eventful, but a wonderfully original combination of photography, graffiti and Flash animation. At times mildy disturbing!

One of my intellectual heroes has died. His understanding of how music works amazed my undergraduate mind, and his books convey an absolutely first rate intellect. It turns out that he discovered a new kind of chemical bond (in his second year as an undergraduate!!!) - a feat which almost deserves a Nobel prize. He had a stellar career as a theoretical chemist and only later moved into psychology. He explored computer simulation of mental processes, perception and especially the perception of music. Apparently he came up with the phrase “cognitive science”. He was made a Fellow of the Royal Society for his Chemistry work and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts for his musicianship. A real genius!
